Synergy of interior objects and art – exhibition inspired by the Baltic Sea on display at AKROPOLE Alfa

2024-03-01

From 1 to 31 March, the exhibition "Baltic Sea, Summer Warmth and Light in Your Interior" by artists Aļona Kaļeviča and Igors Kaļevičs, which tells the story of the grandeur of nature and perfectly reflects the harmonious compatibility of the two artists not only in their professional field, but also in their private life, will be on display at the 3rd floor exhibition hall of the shopping and entertainment centre AKROPOLE Alfa. The exhibition will feature dozens of paintings and designer lamps, which could serve to inspire some visitors in generating new ideas for their home interiors.

Aļona Kaļeviča has been painting for 13 years. Gradual development of her skills through self-learning has turned her hobby into a full-time job and a source of income. The works of the artist have already travelled to several exhibition halls at major shopping centres and hotels of Latvia. It is worth mentioning that the artist has gained recognition thanks to her atypical painting technique – instead of traditional brushes, Aļona uses a sponge to apply acrylic paint on a large-size canvas in a unique way.

The idea of adding designer lamps to the exhibition of paintings came at the time when the couple was working on the construction of their dream house. "My husband and I are very creative – we both love to paint and create interior decor with our own hands. When we were designing the interior for our new house, we realised that painted lamps would perfectly fit in a home interior. We started active work on the creation of the lamps, sharing the results with others, and the response was really positive. People were interested in the lamps. My husband has always been the only person who helped me from the very beginning, supported me and believed that I would succeed and one day my paintings would get a lot of attention and people would want to see them in their homes. Now our paintings and lamps are more and more often appreciated by famous Baltic designers and used in their projects," says artist Aļona Kaļeviča.

"This exhibition is proof that creativity and beauty can be found even in the most mundane objects. We are delighted that we are able to continue our collaboration with these talented artists and to exhibit Aļona’s works at the shopping centre for the third time. Visitors are given the opportunity to be immersed in the peace of nature and to take a picturesque walk along the sea via the works of art and interior objects, therefore, I invite every person to take some time to visit the exhibition," says Sanita Krīgere, the Manager of the shopping centre AKROPOLE Alfa.

The exhibition of art and interior objects by Aļona Kaļeviča and Igors Kaļevičs will be on display for the entire month of March from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of AKROPOLE Alfa. The entry is free.
